just thought it was interesting...

this guy sent his ps3 to the service center or something and they told him the warranty is void because there was too much dust and that it would cost him $150 to replace it.

How would you quantify the dust?

How much dust is too much dust?

Wait the PS3 has only been released for a half year how much dust can you possibly collect in six months? That's just crazy a warrany should mean they just give you a new PS3.

Eh, what does one expect from Sony? They should have just focused on Sound Forge and left consoles to Microsoft.

LoL? There was no such thing as an Xbox when the PSone was released.

That doesn't make the PS1 good

Actually I hold the Xbox and Xbox 360 in low regard as well, but they do at least have a few of the better console developers working with them.

console developers? you mean people who make the consoles for their them, or games? because about 33% of xbox 360s get the red ring of death. If you are talking about games, it seems 99% of developers go multi-platform with their games now a days. It is nice in a way that you don't have to own all all the systems to get all the good games, but game quality does suffer a bit on smaller budget projects.

People who make the games.

And yeah, multiplatform is good. But I like games that are focused on one system, because bad things can happen when a game is developed on consoles too (oblivion, anyone?).

PS3 makes a good door stop, but not much else.

Never played a PS3, In fact I don't even see much stuff about it in general, it's all about Xbox 360 and Wii apparently heh.

But if it had that much dust in such little time, then that person must have been really really messy, and gamers are notorious for being messy.

I read about this the other day and it seems shady. But in the end, it's one of those things that you have to swallow to have the console and try to keep in the back of your mind. I don't have a PS3 or an XBOX 360 but the aspect that stays in my mind about the XBOX 360 was the massive malfunctioning upon launch. Proves the mentality of you're going to get screwed one way or another with pretty much everything.
